The Kuala Lumpur High Court Judge Datuk Abdul Aziz Abd Rahim’s ruling that affirms the legitimacy of Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar as the Menteri Besar of Perak is the first ray of light that spells the end of the 1BLACKMalaysia.
The political crisis however would not be over until fresh elections are called. I would continue wearing black until the Assembly is dissolved.
The ball is now in the Palace’s court. The Perak Crown Prince Raja Nazrin must do the right thing by dissolving the Perak Legislative Assembly.
BN’s former claimant of chiefministership Zambry Abdul Kadir should fully concede that his illegitimate path to power has come to an end.
Zambry must not attempt to reconvene the Legislative Assembly chaired by the illegitimate speakership claimant Ganesan and pass a motion of no confidence against Nizar. Such attempt would only drag Perak into more legal suits.
In any case, even if a vote of confidence is passed, the Menteri Besar can still appeal to the Ruler to dissolve the legislature. So, the ball will remain in the royal court.
After all the chaos, it’s time for a wise decision that will endear the Palace with the people.
