“While there is a lower class, I am in it.
While there is a criminal element, I am of it.
While there is a soul in prison, I am not free.”
—- Eugene V Debs, US Trade Unionist (1855-1926)
Due to the mounting public pressure, after Tan Hoon Cheng, Teresa Kok is now a free person. What a great news!
This is the victory of all freedom-loving Malaysians! It shows that public opinion does matter.
I hope this will not make some ISA protesters call it a day.
Let us continue to pressure the government to release also RPK, Hindraf 5 and all other Malaysians now detained under ISA.
Let us stay focused. The battle is won only when ISA is abolished.
Let us not forget kickdefella. Let us not forget the draconian Sedition Act.
Let us also not forget the three newspapers – The Sun, Sin Chew and Suara Keadilan – that were asked to show cause. Let us not forget the Printing Presses and Publications Act, Official Secrets Act, and all othermedia-related laws that badly needed to be reviewed and reformed if not repealed.
I call upon DAP to convert the “Free Teresa Kok” parliamentary caucus and legislative caucus (Perak) into “Abolish ISA” caucuses!
